Christadelphian Care Homes exists mainly, although not exclusively, to care for members of the Christadelphian Faith.

We operate a number of Care Homes and Sheltered Housing schemes throughout the UK and are able to deliver care tailored to individual needs from low support through to residential, nursing and specialised care, including dementia.

Our home in Kings Norton we are currently recruiting for an experienced and motivated team player to join us as a Senior Care Assistant.

The focus of this role is to actively participate in and supervise the delivery of care to the residents to meet their physical, social, intellectual and emotional needs and ensuring dignity, choice and independence are maintained at all times.


Key elements of this role include the effective leadership of care staff through the organisation of your team whilst providing support and mentoring in all aspects of care.

You'll be responsible for the administration of medication alongside leading on the responsibility of residents individual care documentation ensuring a person centred approach at all times.

You'll work effectively with others within the home to ensure that residents needs are continuously met.


Additionally you'll:

  • Undertake responsibility within an area of work as delegated by the Home Manager
  • Be familiar with the administrative records of the Home and ensure that all records that you are responsible for are kept up to date.
  • To follow appropriate procedures in the event of accidents/ emergencies e.g. fire, missing residents.
  • Be aware of the security of the home and promote this within appropriate parameters as set out in risk management.
  • Ensure appropriate and agreed staffing levels are maintained in liaison with the management team.
  • To report and advise the relevant persons with respect to the repairs and maintenance of the home.


To be successful in this role you'll have respect for diversity and individuality and a genuine interest in and experience of working with the elderly.

You'll be able to communicate effectively at all levels as well as being outgoing and passionate about your role.

A working knowledge of current Person Centred Care planning practice and delivery is advantageous, as is a NVQ Level 3 or above in Care.

You'll be fully computer literate and have experience the the Safe Handling of Medicines.


You'll also need:

  • A flexible and supportive approach with both staff and residents alike, having the ability to work shifts dictated by the needs of the business.
  • The ability to think creatively and respond appropriately to situations using your problem solving skills
  • Attend staff meetings when appropriate and to be available for one to one sessions as agreed.
  • Maintain confidentiality at all times
  • Be aware of and comply with safe working practices as laid down by the Health and Safety at Work Act. Promote the health and safety of everyone in the home in accordance with moving and handling principles, reporting and recording complaints, accidents and incidents to the management according to policies and procedures
