Bath Spa University's Library and Learning Services takes a student-centred approach to Library provision which aims to inspire and enable learning, teaching and research.

About the Role:

You will take a strategic lead on the collections of Library and Learning Services as well as being responsible for the delivery of the front-facing library service across the University.

You will lead departmental projects and working groups with the aim of providing a responsive and ever improving experience for our users.

As a key member of the Library and Learning Services team, you will take a leading role in the planning, management and development of library resources to improve staff and student engagement at the University Library at Newton Park.

Working as an integral part of the Library Management Team you will contribute to the leadership, management and strategic development of Library and Learning Services.

You will be a dedicated self-starter, with strong line management skills and a strong track record in collections and or customer service provision, as well as a strategic thinker who works well with others.

This new role is an exciting opportunity to work in a fast-paced, agile Library service and you will have the opportunity to be directly involved in the shaping of the University Library of the future as we look to respond dynamically to the needs of the University during an exciting phase of its development.

About You:Alongside a postgraduate qualification in librarianship - or a related discipline - and appropriate professional accreditation, you will have a track record of delivering quality, innovative Library collections and customer services, ideally in Higher Education.

We are looking for someone with strong leadership skills, team working values and experience who is organised and committed to the professional development of themselves and others.

We will expect you to demonstrate excellent communication skills, experience of library acquisition systems and practical problem-solving ability.

Crucially, you are an energetic, dedicated professional who is enthusiastic about the role of the Librarian in higher education and focused on providing the highest level of support to students and staff.
