HMP Kilmarnock is situated approximately three miles south-east of Hurlford in East Ayrshire and housing a range of male prisoner types.

We have a fantastic opportunity for a Stores and Finance assistant to join our team.
The purpose of this role is to provide administration support to Stores & Finance department.


Some of the main duties of this role involves:
To assist the Store Department in management of stock and orders
Assist in processing of purchase requisitions
Process paperwork for goods received
To assist in the reviewing of back-orders and expediting deliveries
Supporting the Supplies Manager with administration duties, filing, faxing, etc
To perform financial reconciliations work and analysis on a regular basis as required by the Financial & Commercial Manager.
To ensure transactions involving VAT are properly inputted/recorded.
To carry out any other work reasonably acceptable within the capabilities of the post holder


What you need to do the job:
We are looking for an individual with excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

It is essential that the successful post holder has excellent computer and typing skills and good knowledge of Microsoft Office suite.

They must have the ability to work flexibly and methodically to prioritise tasks and work to deadlines.
It is important that they can work well independently as well as part of a Team working skills.
Having come from a similar background or having experience working in a similar role would be ideal.
