Vibe Recruit are looking for a Trainee Print Finishers to join our client who are a leading print, mail and digital communications provider to major UK brands.

You will be responsible for setting up various machines within the Binding Room and running these machines to set targets/deadlines.

You will also utilize small bindery equipment and handwork skills to manufacture, assemble, count, and package product with exceptional accuracy and with the highest quality standards.

Responsibilities Include:

Compress sewed or glued signatures, using hand presses or smashing machines.
Cut binder boards to specified dimensions, using board shears, hand cutters, or cutting machines.
Cut cover material to specified dimensions, fitting and gluing material to binder boards by hand or machine.
Monitor machine operations to detect malfunctions or to determine whether adjustments are needed.
Perform skilled hand finishing binding operations, such as grooving or lettering.
Set up or operate machines that perform binding operations, such as pressing, folding, or trimming.
Install or adjust bindery machine devices, such as knives, guides, rollers, rounding forms, creasing rams, or clamps, to accommodate sheets, signatures, or books of specified sizes.

Working Hours:

During your training period, you will be working on day shifts. Monday - Thursday 8:00am - 4:30pm and Friday 8:00am - 1:30pm.

Once trained, you will be required to work 12-hour shifts, 3 days a week. (Mon/Tues/Weds then week after Thurs/Fri/Sat)

The 12-hour shifts are either 6:00am to 6:00pm or 8:00am to 8:00pm.

Pay Rate:

During training it will be £9.50 but can pay up to £15 per hour when fully trained and experienced.

Skills & Knowledge Required:

The successful applicant will display high levels of diligence, whilst accurately maintaining set production targets. The ability to use a PC is preferable but not essential.
