We are really excited to have a new role for a Communications Team Leader to deliver the organisation's communications strategy and lead a dynamic team aiming to promote our work in transforming food systems and shifting diets.


  • Do you have a successful track record of driving media coverage with demonstrable results?
  • Do you have proven knowledge of the UK media landscape covering news, consumer and PR?
  • Are you passionate about influencing decision makers to achieve change?

Technical skills

  • Significant senior experience in a press, PR and communicationsrelated role
  • Excellent writing skills with a track record of articles, blogs and press releases. Ability to deliver copy, accurately and to short deadlines.
  • Excellent knowledge and understanding of the UK's media landscape and an up to date media contact book
  • Experience using Vuelio or another media data platform
  • Excellent knowledge of Microsoft programs Word, PowerPoint and Excel
  • Experience creating strong and powerful content across all media including podcasts, social and video.
  • Solid and demonstrable experience in safeguarding an organisation's reputation.
  • Excellent problemsolving skills
  • Good attention to detail
  • Highly organised

Personal Skills

  • You have experience of line management.
  • Ability to lead teams across different disciplines and coach people to improve editorial content.
  • Experience of leading a team to deliver against organisational strategies.
  • You are open to giving and receiving challenging viewpoints, resilience and tenacity whilst recognising the need for selfawareness and the impact of actions on others
  • Strong team player and good at using own initiative.
  • Prepared to work in evenings and weekends if required by press cycles.
  • Ability to work in a fastmoving environment with a clear focus on delivery.

Desirable Qualities

  • Knowledge or interest in food systems and the work of the Foundation in this space
  • Knowledge of website Content Management systems (CMS) such as Drupal or Wordpress
  • Knowledge of Social Media planning tools eg Hootsuite
