Description

We have an exciting opportunity for a talented individual interested in sensory neuroscience to join the Hearing Research group which is interested in studying the development and function of the mammalian auditory system, using 2-photon imaging applied to ex vivo and in vivo model systems.

You will join the group led by Professor Walter Marcotti at the University of Sheffield to provide research support for a newly awarded Wellcome Trust grant.

You will oversee the efficient daily operation of Prof Marcotti's laboratory and provide research support for specific activities, including performing surgical procedures for the in vivo delivery of AAVs to the inner ear and in vivo 2-photon imaging, designing and making constructs, oversee the breeding of transgenic animals, genotyping and help with health & safety protocols.

The ability to work both independently and as part of a collaborative team with several Research Associates and PhD students is also essential.

We're one of the best not-for-profit organisations to work for in the UK.

The University's Total Reward Package includes a competitive salary, a generous Pension Scheme and annual leave entitlement, as well as access to a range of learning and development courses to support your personal and professional development.

We build teams of people from different heritages and lifestyles from across the world, whose talent and contributions complement each other to greatest effect.

We believe diversity in all its forms delivers greater impact through research, teaching and student experience.
