SHARE is a registered charity that provides out of school clubs & activities for disabled children and young adultsTerm time Tuesday & Thursday 2.30pm - 7.30pm, School holidays & Weekends pm various shifts available
JOB SUMMARY
To assist with the provision of out of school services and the day to day operations at Share.
KEY AREAS
- To lead and supervise safe, creative and appropriate play opportunities
- To fully support inclusive practice, and ensure that all children can be involved in the activities if they wish.
- To ensure all activities are inclusive for all children to take part in.
- To assist with the planning and consult with the children and involve them in the planning of activities
- Ensure that activities are carried out in a safe and responsible manner
- To Advise Manager/Supervisor of any concerns eg. Over children, parents or the safety of equipment, preserving confidentiality as necessary.
Responsibilities and Duties
Main duties and responsibilities are indicated below, other duties of an appropriate nature and level may also be required
- To help setup the activities for the daily programme
- To act as a key person to a small group of children
- To promote the aims and objectives of the Centre
- Be aware of all staff policies and procedures
- To ensure the setting has a high standard of physical and emotional care
- To ensure good standards of hygiene and cleanliness are maintained at all times
- To be responsible for the health and safety standards appropriate for the needs of the children
- To assist with the preparation and maintenance of the equipment
- Recording accidents and incidents in the accident/incident book
- To ensure the setting of a high quality environment to meet the needs of individual children differing cultures and religious backgrounds, and stages of development
- To ensure confidentiality of information received
- To be aware of the high profile of Share and uphold its standard at all times
- To be involved in out of hours working hours activities e.g. training, staff meetings.
- To undertake any other duties appropriate with the post as directed by the Centre Manager
- To undertake continuous professional development, including short courses and qualifications relevant to the role
- To ensure all tidying and cleaning is completed at the end of every session
Person Specification
- Essential Criteria_
- _Level 2 and 3 early years education and childcare qualification or equivalent, and a commitment to obtaining a level 3 qualification_
- _Previous experience of working with children_
- _Knowledge of the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS)_
- _Knowledge of child protection procedures_
- _Good communication skills_
- _An undertaking of play based approaches to children's learning and development_
- _Commitment to equal opportunities_
- _Commitment to working effectively with young children and families_
- _Friendly and flexible approach at work which facilitates the development of effective relationships_
Terms & Conditions
This post is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act and does require a Criminal Records Check (DBS). Applicants must be prepared to disclose any convictions they may have and any orders which have been made against them
