Our client
Thermo Fisher Scientific UK are hiring in London
Our client are looking for a part-time (20 hours per week) materials handler to join the team in White City as a site specialist

The role

As a Material Handler, you will be responsible for overseeing the receipt and booking in of goods/deliveries received as well as deliveries and goods going out for dispatch.

This is a fast-paced environment, and the role is built up of multiple site=specific activities and job functions, split into warehouse management, order management, and chemical management.

This is a part-time opportunity on a 6-month fixed-term contract with the potential to be made permanent.
We are able to offer flexible hours between 9am and 2pm, 4 hours per-day, Monday to Friday.

Pay rate:
£11.50 per hour + travel expenses

Key accountabilities

Warehouse Management:


  • Ensure stock is received and stored correctly
  • Ensure stock is appropriately rotated
  • Invoicing
  • Scheduling deliveries
  • Customer communication
  • Workspace maintenance

Order Management:


  • Order entry and expediting
  • Customer service and query handling
  • Returns management
  • Processing backorders

Chemical Management:


  • Receive, register, and track chemical containers
  • Routine checks of the chemical inventory database
  • Provide chemical inventory reports
  • Distribute with care
  • Follow safety guidelines for moving and handling

Skills & experience

Essential:


  • Good organisation and time management skills
  • Administrative skills
  • GCSE or equivalent education

Desirable:


  • Background in warehousing/shipping
  • Interest in pharmaceutical industry
