Annual salary rising after 12 months to £13,104 (apprentices aged under 19) or £17,784 (apprentices aged over 19).

About this Role
This is an exciting opportunity to be our first apprentice within our Trust's Central Team. You will also have the opportunity to gain further valuable experience supporting and working in our schools.


Our Central Team's purpose is to grow and maintain a strong network of schools within a highly supportive and sharing network: we know that schools are better when they work together sharing common values and goals.

You can expect this to be a busy and challenging role.

You will need to learn quickly and be able to balance a busy and varied workload alongside studying for your HR Support Apprenticeship (Level 3).


You can expect full support from both your line manager and the dynamic and friendly team both within the Trust and within our Schools.

Your apprenticeship programme will be expected to start in Spring 2023.

You will have the opportunity to start your role and gain some valuable on the job experience ahead of the programme start date.

The programme will typically last for 18 months and will help you to develop the skills and behaviours needed to effectively manage day-to-day HR queries and give advice in schools, along with the practical knowledge to manage HR processes such as recruitment, employee relations, performance and reward management.

  • Understanding the business and role of HR;
  • Resourcing talent;
  • Supporting performance and reward management;
  • Recording, analysing, and using HR information;
  • Supporting effective employee relations and
  • Developing yourself as an effective HR practitioner.


You can find the HR Support Level 3 apprenticeship standard from the Institute of Apprenticeships which outlines the skills, knowledge and behaviours (the standard) you will develop to achieve the apprenticeship.


Job Description - HR Apprentice

  • To carry out HR administration duties across a range of people activities including data management and reporting, compliance and general people administration
  • To provide a professional and proactive recruitment service to internal stakeholders and all applicants
  • To complete employee onboarding administration, ensuring compliance with regulations and procedures, particularly with regard to safer recruiting.
  • To maintain regular and effective communications with a range of school colleagues and maintain confidentiality at all times.
