Facilities Management is a service going through significant change to ensure that it can deliver first class Facilities Management across all Sheffield City Council's corporate estate and civic buildings.

Based at the Town Hall. The role covers a 3-week shift pattern, shifts typically being: , and Some Saturday working will be required.


The team delivers numerous activities to ensure that buildings are Clean, Safe, Warm, Dry and Fit for Purpose, through our internal teams and contract partners, for service users throughout Sheffield.

You will need to have good communication skills, with problem solving attributes along with being enthusiastic, confident, well organised.

You will also need some Knowledge of Facility related Health and Safety, understanding of statutory related duties in relation to building management.

The town Hall regularly hosts Civic and high-profile events, Weddings, and important council meetings. Smart, professional appearance and an overall polite manner would be expected.


Basic experience in the use if IT systems to support service delivery and excellent customer liaison skills will also enable you to deliver on the wide-ranging objectives required in the post.

If appointed to this role, your starting salary will be at the bottom of the grade.

If you provide payslip evidence that your basic pay is greater than the bottom of the grade, we will consider starting you at the point of minimum advantage within the grade.

Full-time employees work 37 hours for 52 weeks of the year and we offer a generous holiday entitlement. We are open to discussions about a wide range of flexible working opportunities, which benefit you and the Council.
