Making A Difference as A Employment Coach & Mentor Operative within Place Services Directorate.

This is an exciting opportunity to provide Coaching and Mentoring to participants of a major new employment programme in St Helens.

The programme, part of St Helens Council's UKSPF funded 'Ways to Work' Programme, aims to provide support to people who experience barriers to participating in the labour market, and will deliver jobs, training and opportunities to St Helens residents

You will work with a referred caseload of people, both on a one to one basis and within groups as appropriate, to facilitate in making changes that result in them participating positively in education, training or employment.

You will provide a supportive and motivating environment for people to explore their needs, motivations, skills and assist the individual in making real, lasting change focused ultimately on moving into sustainable employment.


Brokering placements and working directly with employers to identify recruitment needs, skills requirements and working in partnership to get people back into work.

With a track record of providing coaching and mentoring support and employment-related information, advice and guidance support to people, you will have the personal skills and ability to deal with your own changing and dynamic caseload of clients, each with their own set of personalised requirements, and support the clients on individualised pathways to move them closer to the labour market with the ultimate aim of securing sustainable employment.

Based in St Helens, midway between Liverpool and Manchester.
