My client, based in Burscough, are looking to recruit a File Handler to join their Medical Department.

This is an exciting opportunity for someone who wants to join a fantastic growing organisation, and progress in their career.


The main purpose to this role is to deal with Solicitors, and assist them in obtaining medical evidence in regards to their claim.


Responsibilities include:

  • Liaising and instructing medical experts review the medical records checking all records required to be reviewed have been received
  • Arranging any medical examinations, radiology to arranging surgery, ensuring this is all done within the deadlines.
  • Arranging private transport for the client to be medically assessed
  • Chasing medical appointments
  • Confirming appointment details with client, the solicitor & transport
  • Instructing any interpreters required to attend the appointment if required
  • Chasing & Reviewing medical reports, ensuring all details are correct
  • Ensuring all reports are received within the deadline
  • Arranging any treatment required to assist the client's recovery i.e. contacting Hospitals to arrange Surgery
  • Arranging any after care in relation to the recovery after surgery, followup radiology images, physiotherapy, home visits etc.
  • Working under instruction form the Solicitor regarding any court orders for further medical evidence within the ordered timeframe i.e. Joint Statements or Part 35 Questions

  • Experience within Medical Reporting (desirable)
  • Ownership and organisation skills
  • A structured and proactive approach to tasks
  • Able to work under pressure

Job Types:

Salary:
£18,000.00-£25,000.00 per year
