LEGAL CASHIER

WOKINGHAM
An exciting opportunity has arisen to join our clients friendly Accounts department.

The department, comprising a Finance Manager, Senior Cashier, Accounts Assistant, Accounts Assistant and Credit Controller and an Archive Administrator, ultimately report into the Chief Financial Officer and provide competent and efficient financial services to the firm.


The role:


This role reports into the Finance Manager and would suit an individual with some previous experience in legal cashiering, or, a finance junior with a desire to develop their skillset.


Key responsibilities:


  • Processing outward CHAPS and Bacs payments
  • Allocation of client receipts
  • Bank reconciliations
  • Taking card payments from clients both via telephone and in person
  • Processing Purchase Ledger invoices on the accounts system
  • Posting of Office Disbursements including Land Registry, court fees, and other search fees
  • Banking client and office cheques/cash as and when required
  • Processing Counsel fee notes onto the purchase and relevant client ledgers
  • Monitoring and responding to queries within the Accounts shared inbox
  • Other Accounts administrative tasks as required

Skills and Qualifications:


  • GCSE (or equivalent) level education including Maths and English
  • Strong communication skills, both written and spoken
  • Excellent IT skills our accounts and document management system is Partner for Windows (P4W), for which training will be provided.
  • Good organisational skills
  • Excellent attention to detail
