Job overview

An opportunity has arisen for an Clerical Administrator to join our busy secretarial team within the Histopathology Department


This is a full time post (37.5 hrs per week) based predominantly at the QMC campus but cross site working at City campus may be required.

Main duties of the job


You would be working as part of a team and required to use your own initiative to provide a complete administrative service for the Consultant Histopathologists.

The teams are also a key point of reference for hospital staff and outside agencies.

Duties include typing medical reports, MDT preparation, filing, scanning, minute taking and escalating priority patients.

The job involves the below,


To provide an administrative service to the Department, Consultants and their teams as agreed whilst adhering to codes of practice concerning confidentiality and Data Protection.

Word processes clinical letters and other clinical correspondence as required, from audio, copy typing.

Typing of post mortems as required.

Type cellular pathology reports as required, providing cover for all teams as required.

Co-ordinates and manages diaries for consultants on a daily basis.

Progress chase samples and reports in order to ensure compliance with agreed turnaround or target dates.

  • RSA 3, word processing or equivalent skills

Salary:
The quoted salary will be on a pro rata basis for part time workers.
