An opportunity has arisen for a team administrator to join our team on a permanent basis.

This post would be suitable for applicants who enjoy working as part of a busy team.

The role requires daily interaction with a variety of staffing groups, patients as well as other hospital departments so good communication is essential as well as a patient centered approach.


The post holder will manage and prioritise their own workload on a daily basis and use their initiative and discretion to manage the competing priorities.

The ability to work well under pressure is essential.

  • To be responsible for providing an administrative support service to the specialist midwife team, specifically for risk management and practice support teams.
  • Resolving day to day administrative problems and acting as first point of contact for the specialist midwifery team.
  • To provide a comprehensive secretarial and administrative support for the specialist midwife team.


QE Maternity unit is a consultant led obstetric unit The unit prides itself on the partnership working between midwifery and medical teams.

We aim to ensure that our families & our staff are at the core of everything we do.

The post will be based in the maternity unit at the QE working alongside an established administration team and support the specialist midwives predominantly within practice development and risk management


We are working continuously towards improving and developing our services to provide care which is in line with the ambitions set by national teams to improve the safety and quality of maternity services.

You will be part of the specialist midwifery team who are pivotal to the delivery of these changes and will support the quality and safety of our maternity service

  • To be responsible for minute taking as and when required
  • To undertake clerical duties for the team and work alongside the midwifery secretaries to ensure a cohesive and comprehensive administrative support to the maternity service.
  • To provide administrative support for specialist midwife projects as required
  • To undertake all administrative duties associated with the specialist roles, to include management of databases, arranging of meetings, room bookings, invites/agendas/distribution lists
  • Assistance with typing and archiving of maternity guidelines, audit reports and meeting records
