Description
The Band 7 Physician's Associates will be based in Chepstow Hospital. The 2 South Physician's Associates will have placements shared across all five South Monmouthshire practices. Operating hours will be 9am to 5pm with a lunch break and travel time included. Patients will be filtered by klinik systems or booked directly by the well-trained practice care navigators.

They will see all patients with a range of primary care presentations within their competencies.

  • They will complete a thorough assessment of the presentation and agree a management plan with the patient.
  • They will make onward referrals to secondary care.
  • They will request further laboratory and radiological investigations as they deem appropriate. All radiological requests are to be reviewed and signed off by a practice GP before they are submitted

Their appointment book will consist of twenty appointments for amber and green face to face presentations, each with a twenty-minute mid-morning and mid-afternoon break and further 15 minute red appointments (acute on the day appointments).

Scheduling may vary from the above according to practice and preferred competencies of the individuals.

They will participate in the quarterly NCN meetings and any meetings the hosting practices wish them to attend (with appointments suitably blocked to allow time for this).
