About The Role:

Overall Purpose of the role
To oversee the waste removal & provide FLT duties on the Safran site.

Main Duties & Responsibilities of the Role

Ensure the daily bin empties across site are carried out in a timely manner
Remove hazardous waste
Ensure the customers needs are met in the general tidyness and maintenance of site
To monitor correct useage of different waste streams including wood, metal, general and hazardous waste
To provide porter duties and forklift assistance around site
To assist the OCS team to ensure the smooth running of all operations across site
To ensure the area is functioning to the customers needs

Health & Safety Duties

Participate in any communication activities through formal and informal channels on safety matters to ensure that there is a free flow of ideas.
Ensure that the OCS safety image is reflected positively through your actions
Ensure that you have received the necessary training so that you can competently carry out your duties and responsibilities. Acknowledge and accept a personal responsibility for safety.
Take responsibility for reviewing the safe system of work prior to the commencement of the work activity.
Take responsibility for ensuring that plant and equipment is maintained and fit for purpose.
Raise any concerns over Health & Safety breaches in accordance with Company Procedure.
Group Safety Support: You will be required to work closely with the Group Health and Safety team who are available to provide safety advice and support. Furthermore you will be required to ensure that safety initiatives are implemented within your areas of control.

Details of the Role

Hourly paid role working 37 hours per week
Normal hours of work to be 07:00 to 15:00 Monday
Thursday, 07:00 12:00
Position to be based in Burnley
FLT license required

Critical Performance Measures (CPMs) / Objectives

Take a dynamic approach ie problem solving, preemptive waste collections
Create collection routes to benefit individual areas in varying production times
Achieving targets of large scale removals
Ensuring the continual improvement of collections and recycling
To assist the waste supervisor and site manager and ensure daily tasks are carried out to ensure functionality of the yard
To liaise with line manager with all waste requirements
