We are looking to recruit three Education, Health and Care Coordinators to join our amazing team and help play a central role in achieving positive outcomes for children and young people with special educational needs in Wandsworth.
About the service
The Special Needs Assessment Service (SNAS) works on behalf of children and young people with severe and complex special educational needs and their parents.
We currently administer around 2300 Education, Health and Care (EHC) Plans, ensuring the efficient and timely assessment of children and young people aged 0 to 25 and managing and reviewing their EHC plans going forward.
SNAS has undergone a rapid transformation and we are looking for passionate and proactive individuals to join us moving forward with continuous improvement.
About the role
EHC Coordinators provide comprehensive casework management, and these posts will initially be part of the review team primarily responsible for managing the annual review process, amending EHC plans and phase transfers.
To be shortlisted for this position your CV and personal Statement will clearly evidence:
- A thorough knowledge of the Children and Families Act 2014 and the associated SEND Code of Practice.
- The ability to work in a busy and pressurised environment with competing pressures
- Experience of working collaboratively with schools and other education settings, professionals from education, health and social care, and children and families.
- Effective communication both orally and in writing with a wide range of professionals and parents
- A desire to work with young people with Special Education Needs and Disabilities
