Description
An excellent opportunity for an experienced procurement person to join the procurement team based at our head office in Doncaster.
Working in a compact team, the successful applicant will work with fellow procurement staff to assist in delivering supply chain support to our busy projects divisions as well as corporate procurement activities.
Working as a buyer or assistant buyer dependent on experience, you will work as part of the central team providing a key service to our stakeholders whilst working closely with our supply chain partners.
Your work will involve ensuring we service our stakeholders needs, regarding the provision of goods and services through our supply chain.
Key accountabilities:
Typical activities supporting the Head of Procurement & team are as follows;
- Transactional processing of requisitions into orders
- Verification that all such transactions are with our qualified suppliers & in line with budgetary authority
- Data analysis of spend
- Pricing and Tendering activities to support the wider business
- Assist in supplier performance monitoring
- Supplier engagement/relationship management activities
- Help Influence & channel supply chain spend with our agreed framework providers
Skills & experience:
- Educated to degree standard
- Either achieved or working towards CIPS Level 3 Advanced Certificate in Procurement and Supply Operations
- Previous experience of working within the procurement function in rail and/or civils construction
- Excellent communication and administration skills
- Organised and articulate
