Role purpose:


The role is to deliver quality HR advisory services to employees, managers and the HR team relating to HR policy, employee relations, the full employee life cycle, and technical HR administrative activities.

You will be proactive in supporting the HR Leadership Team, the Centres of Excellence, HRBPs and the HR Shared Services team by delivering against the HR strategy and Operating model.


Key duties:


Strategy and Planning:

  • Support HR activities to align to both business objectives and overall HR strategy
  • Effective execution of operational objectives for the HR function
  • Alignment between business unit objectives, people management plans and Aspen HR strategy
  • Delivery against agreed processes, projects, budgets, and standards
  • Constructive feedback from internal business, HR colleagues and other relevant stakeholders

Policy, Process and Procedures:

  • Ensure HR working procedures and documentation are compliant with HR policy and legislation
  • Support HR colleagues, managers, and employees in using the document library, ensuring documents are relevant, up to date and consistent
  • Provide support to people managers on performance management and employee relations issues in line with business requirements and Aspen HR policies, procedures, and legislation
  • Advise individual employees to help them interpret HR Policy and guide them on HR related processes
  • Contribute to the development of HR processes, service delivery and the continuous improvement thereof including the development of technology build, process guides, templates, forms, FAQ, and internal communications
  • HR documents are compliant with internal policy and procedures and legislation.
  • HR document library is proactively maintained
  • Demonstrates sound working knowledge of Aspen HR policies, procedures, and processes
  • Demonstrates foundation level employment law knowledge
  • Regular communication with business area, reliable timely response to queries and constructive feedback received from stakeholders
  • Positive feedback from business area, employees, HR Business Partners, and HR team
  • Timely, effective resolution of people issues
  • Fully understands and improves HR lifecycle processes
  • Proactively highlights areas for improvement and updates documentation and business communications accordingly

Environmental Awareness/Customer Focus:

  • Develop and maintain good working relationships with people managers to raise credibility and to develop a working knowledge and understanding of key business priorities, issues, and challenges to deliver.
  • Work with HR colleagues to assist in the development of initiatives and the achievement of the broader goals of HR
  • Supporting cultural and procedural change initiatives, liaising with HR colleagues, and providing technical support to managers and colleagues to aid a smooth transition
  • Maintain awareness of compliance and regulatory changes as it relates to Aspen's policies, practices, and employee base.
  • Regular contact and communication process is in place
  • Thorough approach to gain a clear understanding of personalities, drivers, priorities, and dynamics in the business areas
  • Constructive feedback received from the business and other relevant stakeholders
  • Demonstrates understanding of and responsiveness to business needs and priorities
  • Successful landing of change initiatives with mínimal push back from business
  • Delivery in line with HR strategy and Aspen goals

Key skills, experience & qualifications:


  • 4+ years' experience in Human Resources, ideally with some financial services exposure
  • Demonstrable experience in managing low tier employee relations cases independently
  • Generalist experience to include supporting recruitment activities, producing data analytics, updating policies and procedures.
  • Experience of contributing and delivering to project objectives.
  • Relationship Management and influencing skills
  • High level of administration and organisation skills
  • Manage competing priorities and work to deadlines and SLA's.
  • Problem solving and anticipate upcoming needs
  • Able to adapt in a fast paced and changing environment
  • Strong IT skills and use of HRIS
  • Ability to view things strategically and logically
  • Proactively identify issues, make recommendations, and implement solutions.
