Cash Collections Specialist

Location - York

12 month FTC

Salary - £24,000 - £27,000 depending on experience, plus potential bonus scheme and other allowances.

Position Summary


Here at Nestlé we have a fantastic opportunity for a focused individual to join the Customer Solutions Team based in our Nestle House York Office, with the opportunity to work from home part of the time (after initial training).

The role of the Cash Collection Specialist is to ensure that debts on managed accounts are collected in compliance with UK&I Terms and Conditions, using customer contact and business knowledge to ensure the collection of invalid claims.

To escalate all issues though appropriate channels and ensure the use of correct Global tools to execute tasks.

Problem solving and project work (management and driver) is a key part of this role.


Ensure the accuracy and timeliness of services delivered is in accordance with Service Level Agreements, adhering to Global Standard Practices.


A day in the life of a Collections Specialist
You will work with a friendly and supportive team providing accurate and timely service to our customers, working closely cross functionally with supply chain, sales, and IT, ensuring customer invoice queries are resolved, the key responsibilities will include:

  • Customer/account queries to support that sales ledger balances are clean on customer account.
  • Learn and deploy collection techniques for due and overdue balances on customer account, maximising On Time Payment for all Customers.
  • Notify Billing to Collections Leads of debt risks to ensuring mitigating actions are taken.
  • Respond to incoming collection concerns from the customer and internal stakeholders.
  • Focus on Customer Service, ensuring good communication levels to identify and support resolving problems on customers' accounts, which could ultimately impact Sales and Working Capital of the business.

What will make you successful?

  • Strong numerical and analytical skills with a good attention to detail.
  • Having excellent systems knowledge including advanced Excel functionality and ideally possessing SAP experience although this isn't essential.
  • Previous experience in Collections would be desirable but not essential.
