Location:
Bristol based with ad hoc travel to our site in Suffolk (hybrid working arrangements).


Employment type:
Permanent full-time/ part-time.


Employment basis:

The role is expected to be a full-time position however we are open to discussing a more flexible or part-time approach where possible.


Salary:
Competitive dependent on experience, plus bonus and other benefits.

The Opportunity:

Come and join our expanding Sizewell C (SZC) team and work on one of the most exciting and largest megaprojects in the UK, whilst being at the forefront of the UK's climate change agenda and energy policy.

Following on from the success of Hinkley Point C (HPC), the SZC Project is a nuclear new build project in Suffolk, which has obtained planning approval and Government financing support.

The project is now seeking private investment with a view to start construction in 2024.

When completed, it will provide dependable electricity to 6 million homes for 60 years, which along with renewables, will support Britain to achieve Net Zero by 2050.

We have a fantastic opportunity for an Environment Site Lead, specialising in Ecology.

This will be a key role throughout the construction phase of the project, ensuring compliance with our environmental requirements and commitments.

Our teams are set up to work flexibly, with a hybrid working approach between our offices and your home.

We provide a full suite of IT equipment to ensure that our employees can work from home comfortably and effectively.

This role will require regular site visits to Sizewell C, in Suffolk.


The Role:


Acting as an Intelligent Customer within SZC, you'll work across the main construction site and associated development sites, supporting compliance with site permits, licences and consents, and planning conditions related to ecology.

You'll be responsible for terrestrial ecological activities on site, and performing on-site surveillance of construction activities.

Additionally, you'll have responsibility for developing, reviewing, and accepting ecological management arrangements on SZC's behalf.


Collaborating with internal and external stakeholders such as the SZC planning team, Civil Works Alliance, Environment Agency and local authorities to deliver works in a high quality and compliant manner will be key to your role.


The Skills:

You'll need to have experience in an environmental
- related role with particular knowledge of ecology, with a strong understanding of the requirements and arrangements needed to deliver compliance with site environmental permits, licences and consents.

Knowledge of the construction/ large infrastructure sector would be beneficial.
