Job title; Composites Tutor/Trainer


Roles available; 2


Contract; Secondment to Sunseeker Human Resources for 24 months


Working routine; 40 hours per week, 8am to 5pm with no overtime


Location; Onsite at the Poole College Campus, BH12 4NU and BH14 0LS


Salary; £36,400 per annum (Salaried)


Start date; 01 September 2023


Role Overview
Composites manufacturing is one of our core capabilities. It's the first thing customers see and it's what makes the structure of every Sunseeker yacht.

Innovation in Composites is moving at lightning speed which means we need to be training skills for the future, today.

Our Composites training strategy aims to create multiple pools of talent via an increased training offering.

Working in partnership with Bournemouth and Poole college we hope to launch; Fast-track programmes, Full time programmes, Higher programmes and increased apprenticeships in Composites comprising all Composites technologies.


The Composites Tutor/Trainer will be provided with access to teaching and training qualifications and 4 months of intensive train the trainer learning before they commence delivery of instructor led training in January 2024.


Typically, the Tutor/Trainer will be delivering training, in-person, 4 days a week, with 1 day reserved for administration and class preparation.


Who are we seeking?
To be considered for this post all applicants must;

  • Have a background in Laminating/ Composites
  • Have skills with both open and closed moulding
  • Hold a nationally recognised qualification in Laminating/Composites/Engineering/Construction or similar at level 2 or better
  • Be willing and able to pass an Enhanced DBS (Disclosure Barring Service) check (Click here for more information)
  • Have excellent interpersonal skills, able to build relationships with ease, with high levels of emotional intelligence (the ability to identify and manage your own emotions as well as the emotions of others)

Role overview

Teach on courses as agreed with the Learning Manager across Composites using a variety of mediums to reflect the needs of the department and your area of expertise.

Contribute to the design, delivery and future planning and development of the curriculum

Pay due attention to the principles of inclusive learning including:

  • individual learning styles.
- support for students with learning difficulties and disabilities.
- extension resources/activities for students of higher ability.
- general resources, including the use of Information Learning Technology.

Create an outstanding student experience


Prepare and mark student work, monitor progress towards individual targets, keep records and provide timely reports/reviews to students, parents, employers, and College managers, as appropriate.

Take appropriate responsibility to ensure the health and safety of self and others

Represent the College and Sunseekler at internal and external events and meetings including student recruitment and admissions events
