Salary £10.50 per hour | Part time | Permanent | 25 hours per week | Various School | Rossendale, Blackburn, Burnley areas |

Lancashire County Council provide catering services to over 500 schools across Lancashire, serving over 60,000 school meals per day and we are looking for committed individuals to join the service

You will work as part of a team providing high quality, healthy, balanced meals for school children. This position is working as cover in various schools within Lancashire. Contracted to a minimum of
25 hours per week, pro rata


Key responsibilities:

  • Prepare the dining area for service, including the moving and setting up of furniture and putting away
  • Assist in the preparation, cooking and serving of food and beverages
  • Clean all equipment and catering areas
  • Run units in the absence of a UCS

What we are looking for:

  • Ability to work as part of a team
  • Ability to work under pressure and use own initiative
  • Good customer care skills
  • Previous catering and food preparation experience would be essential
  • Running various kitchens in the absence of the unit manager

Working Hours/Days:

  • Monday to Friday
  • Term time only
  • Essential car user
  • 25 hours per week, although hours are variable depending upon school meal uptake and service needs
  • Mileage allowance


You will be required to p rovide a car for use in connection with the duties of this post and must be insured for business use.

However, we may consider you if you cannot drive because of a disability.


This position is part time and term time only, please note the salary quoted is full time equivalent, the salary received will be paid on a pro - rata basis.
