Description

We have a great opportunity for a Billing Controller to join our growing Finance team in our brand new Bristol office.

The main purpose of this role is to undertake all aspects of revenue control e-billing for all practice groups in accordance with established operational processes and policies.

This is a permanent role with a hybrid working arrangement.

What you'll do

Core responsibilities:

  • Deal with and resolve client queries without reference to manager
  • Find solutions for billing and ebilling problems
  • Work with suppliers to implement ebilling solutions
  • Deal with large volumes of data input when required
  • Develop and document billing procedures
  • Deal with International ebilling queries
  • Assist with the maintenance of rates to ensure bills will be approved within ebilling systems
  • Follow up unbilled Work In Progress and disbursements with Fee Earners
  • Maintain accurate information held within Elite
  • Support the Billing Manager and Billing team when required
Undertake all aspects of Revenue Control work in line with agreed policies and procedures.

Whilst you will have a particular focus (set out in 'Purpose of Job' above), you will share responsibility for the following (non-exhaustive) list of tasks for your allocated practice groups:


  • Ebilling tasks including uploading and resolving queries
  • Producing bills, processing credit notes, bill cancellations & writeoffs
  • Answering customer queries, responding quickly and appropriately to requests and ensuring that the relevant people are kept up to date on progress
  • Carefully prioritising requests. Ensure that, if any nonstandard work is undertaken, it does not negatively impact on provision of core services

Key Skills

  • Selfmotivated and proactive with the ability to work on your own initiative
  • Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues across all aspects of the Revenue Control team and ensure that issues are addressed promptly, professionally, openly and constructively
  • Ability to communicate and interact appropriately and constructively with customers and colleagues
  • Ability to work with mínimal supervision and to identify and act on issues which need to be escalated
  • Ability to follow policies & processes and assist with the design and implementation of new processes
  • Good organisational, time management and prioritisation skills
  • IT Literate
  • Ability to work under pressure whilst paying attention to detail
