Job Description:
PURPOSE
KEY TASKS
Performance & Delivery
- Responsible for the development and implementation of system components that focus on the Front Office and Risk teams (Project Aurora), utilising IM's inhouse CORE framework approach, and in accordance with agreed coding standards, release procedures, architecture, and quality standards.
- Accountable for the detailed level architecture within the CORE framework for Aurora a £10M per annum project.
- SME knowledge to guide the implementation of system components and tools inside CORE framework, both foundational components for wider reuse and business logic specific front office and risk functionality components.
- Hands on knowledge to quality assure code and get hands on if needed.
- Ensure the knowledge underpinning any new enhancement is documented, managed and maintained.
- Work with the support team to identify, plan and execute service improvements to those systems that are developed.
- Ensure engineering quality of overall Aurora code base through defining coding guidelines and enforcing them through regular code reviews of Aurora developers artifacts.
- Assist support team with any technical queries.
- Understand the business processes and flows to enable the development of solutions.
- Work with project and support teams to manage service introduction and deployment.
- Managing team tasks, workflow and mentoring.
People & Teams
- Responsible for setting technical direction for multiple teams of developers to deliver the vision of the Aurora platform across all the risk functions within Marketing.
- Provide technical support and guidance to develop the team and their capability
- Support the team to operate in accordance with Anglo American and Marketing IM operational processes, standards, frameworks and quality controls as required.
- Managing team tasks, workflow and mentoring.
- Support the professional development of permanent team members to enable individual growth and progression and to continuously improve internal developer capabilities.
Qualifications:
Role-specific knowledge:
- Essential: Commodities trading experience.
- Essential: Trade Lifecycle
- Essential: Financial Valuation Methodologies
- Essential: Market Risk, Value at Risk, Option Pricing
- Essential: Proven 10+ Years working in a financial services front office and / or complex risk development team
Development and Technology:
- Essential: Angular
- Essential: C#
- Essential: Unit testing
- Essential: DataBricks
- Strongly preferred: Azure Native Components (Azure SQL, App Services)
- Relational database experience (SQL).
- Experience working In Agile development teams.
