JOB PURPOSE
The Senior Commercial Comms Lead will be responsible for creating the Commercial Marketing Strategy across the year.

Integrating all the different component parts, leading the Brand Narrative & consistency across different channels, instigating leading industry initiatives & working with the Central Events team to deliver the Event Strategy across the year.


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Ownership of the Strategy & Vision for building 4Sales Reputation in the industry
  • Lead the Market Proposition & Narrative of 4Sales across the industry
  • Build a clear 'Communication Strategy' across the year to ensure consistent Brand Comms & prioritisation of messaging
  • Guardian and owner of the strategy to coordinate brand tone of voice & visual style across all communication activities and channels
  • Identify & build relationships with Industry allies, networks, organisations & individuals
  • Build a communication plan & key messages across PR, industry events & panel opportunities.
  • Leading & coordinate all Comms to external industry partners in response to C4 Press releases, News & Announcements. Working closely with the Senior Leadership Team & internal Head of Comms
  • Identify and outline key event moments to support the marketing objectives, leading the briefing of the centralised event team to deliver in partnership
  • Ownership and lead the Awards strategy across 4Sales
  • Identify and develop cultural moments and/or initiatives to drive commercial reputation in market
  • Liaise with external stakeholders to enhance Channel 4's reputation and brand, including leading PR titles & Industry partners
  • Work with Senior team to device the best metrics & measurements of success to feed into continuous assessment of the strategy
  • Represent the Commercial Marketing team and output as a permanent member of the 4Sales leadership team

Technical & Professional Skills

  • A track record of creating and leading a brands Marcomms Strategy across the industry
  • Experience in leading & coordinating message hierarchies across channels to drive a coherent and leading industry narrative
  • Planning, developing, and implementing a strategic approach to Brand tone of voice & visual styling
  • A track record on launching big industry initiatives & projects with multiple stakeholders, both internally & externally
  • Experience in PR communication strategy and execution
  • Job holder must be able to manage relationships with individuals at all levels with suppliers and internally within Channel
  • Autonomy/Judgement/Decision Making
  • Ability to lead Strategic conversations and articulate approaches to stakeholders
  • Ability to work independently and as part of an integrated team is vital
  • Working closely with the Senior Leadership Team at 4Sales & across Channel 4 to drive forward projects at speed, making informed decisions and pitching to senior colleagues as appropriate
Managing Resource

  • Experienced in leading a team to success, dealing with daytoday team management and longterm personal development
  • A track record of meticulous budget management, taking complete control of a 7figure expenditure budget
  • Relationship Management
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with Senior team and stakeholder across 4Sales
  • Integrate and work with broader PR, Marcomm teams across Channel
  • Integrate and work closely with central events team across Channel
  • Build strong relationships with external industry partners, PR and industry bodies
  • Build a strong reputation internally as a respected brand guardian for the commercial team
Business Impact/Strategic Perspective

  • Ability to lead Strategic decisions that drive Reputation of 4Sales across the industry
  • Create, build & lead Marcomms strategy across all touchpoints
  • Manage and impact market reputation through PR, messaging, brand narrative & industry relationships

ESSENTIAL SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

  • Experience in Strategic leadership & reputation management in the industry
  • Prior experience in Brand Strategy and Narrative creation
  • Key Industry relationships & PR experience
  • A keen understanding of what makes effective advertising and how brands grow
  • Prior experience of understanding, developing and communicating a brand tone of voice
  • A track record of planning, developing, and implementing a strategic approach to Brand development
  • Experience in a planning / strategy role supporting industry leading campaign deliver
  • Ability to work at pace and under pressure in an everchanging environment
  • Understanding of the Media Landscape & UK television market
