Housing Options and Benefits Officer

This is an exciting opportunity to be an integral part of the newly established Supported Accommodation Review Team within Housing Options Community Connections team.

Working closely with providers and delivering an excellent, specialist service to customers living in exempt supported housing seeing issues through to resolution and ensuring compliance with all current legislation, regulations, Council policies and procedures.

The post holder will play a key role in providing advice, support and our statutory service for customers in supported housing.

This is an office based role, but there will be opportunity to work from home. It may be required, on occasion when needed, to work in the community.

We are looking for a compassionate, customer focused and motivated team member who will contribute to all elements of our service.

They must be able to work with a range of different communities, and some clients who may display challenging behaviours.

The post holder will:

Have excellent communication skills to engage with customers and partners
Work as part of a team and also independently using their own initiative
Be creative in respect to frontline services
Have excellent planning and organisation skills
Have excellent ICT skills
Be able to ensure compliance and advice customers on complex issues around benefits

The Disclosure & Barring Service Check requirement for this post is: Enhanced Check + DBS Children's Barred List & DBS Adult's Barred List.
