Promote high quality teaching, effective use of resources, and enabling high standards of learning and achievement for all students- Have a full understanding of the SEND code of practise 201
- Knowledge of the 'Assess, Plan, Do, Review' cycle for all provision and support for SEN and vulnerable students
- Provide all colleagues with the assistance, challenge, information and development necessary to sustain motivation and secure improvement in learning
- Effectively deploy the SEND team to create efficient and effective support
- Coordinate access arrangements along with the SEN administrator and exams office for students for all necessary exams
- Be aware of high risk medical needs those with IHCPs and liaise with staff on suitable provision
- Communicate with a range of stakeholders regarding provision and support including; external agencies, SEN parental surgeries and parents evenings
- Assist the provision of SEMH needs and create appropriate interventions and support with the TAs
- Take a joint lead on referrals, EHCPs and HNF
Key duties and responsibilities
- Write the SEN Register and personalised plans for key students
- Write the Provision map for the centre
- Oversee EHCP annual reviews, provision plans and transition
- Collate and oversee any referral paperwork including ASC/ADHD
- Arrange EAL support for our students
- Line manage, support and timetable the Centre's TAs
- Support Centre Manager with PEPs
- Support SEN students through 1:1s/study/intervention sessions
- Support Work Experience for EHCP students
- Invigilate exams where needed
- Involvement in Parents and open evenings
- Provide praise and encouragement to students to recognise and promote confidence and self esteem
- Be able to recognise and refer any safeguarding issues by following school policy
- Carry out any other reasonable duties as required by the Centre Manager
