A&P Group - Falmouth, Commercial Procurement Business Partner**Do you have excellent customer service and stakeholder management skills and a good knowledge of the maritime industry or ship repair sector?


Here at A&P Falmouth we are looking for a Commercial Procurement Business Partner who can help us develop and build relationships with new and existing suppliers, enabling us to provide our customers with cost effective, quality solutions.


Who we are:


A&P Falmouth is one of the largest ship-repair facilities in the UK, we provide a complete range of marine repair services thanks to our on-site engineering, electrical, paint and fabrication workshops.


What you will do:

As a Commercial Procurement Business Partner, you will partner with our customers, suppliers and departments across our business to promote good commercial practice:

  • You'll build and develop relationships with key suppliers to drive cost reduction and encourage innovation in line with regulatory requirements.
  • You'll analyse quotations for the selection of subcontractors, ensuring terms from the customer flow to the supplier and vice versa.
  • Working closely with the Head of Procurement and Commercial Director you'll negotiate commercial agreements in line with business strategy, seeking opportunities to leverage spend.
  • You'll monitor industry trends to ensure that APCL Group is aware of alternative and developing technologies to drive time, cost and quality improvements.
  • You'll assist our Estimating and Production Teams with any emergent issues during project delivery.
  • You'll oversee suppliers to ensure contract obligations are delivered and resolve issues appropriately.

What we are looking for:


  • Excellent analytical and customer service skills with the ability to communicate clearly and effectively are key.
  • You'll be MCIPS qualified or hold an equivalent qualification/experience.
  • You'll have a good knowledge and understanding of the ship repair market.
  • You should be able to demonstrate strong commercial acumen and negotiation skills with the ability to build and maintain strong relationships internal and external to the business.
