Butler Rose is currently seeking a dynamic individual to join our client, a manufacturer in the Mid Devon area, who have a current requirement for a Lead Planner in their Supply Chain and Operations department.

As the Lead Planner, you will play a crucial role in optimising delivery performance and inventory turns for a specific area of our business.

Your responsibilities will include devising and implementing new processes and activities that will enhance overall performance and efficiency.


Key Responsibilities include:

  • Spearhead planning activities and introduce innovative processes to drive improvements in delivery performance and inventory turns.
  • Lead a team of Planning & Logistics Controllers, ensuring effective management of demand within the MRP system and alignment of supply with demand.
  • Generate and communicate the production plan to relevant stakeholders within the organisation.
  • Collaborate with Production Managers to enhance area delivery performance and maintain continuous improvement.
  • Maintain data integrity and accuracy in the MRP system to facilitate effective planning.
  • Streamline material movement processes and reduce transactional activities within the area.
  • Integrate new products/programmes into planning and logistics processes for the assigned area.
  • Support capacity planning for operations within the cell and contribute to customer interface activities.
  • Foster a strong working relationship with the Purchasing team to ensure uninterrupted supply of external parts.
  • Oversee the shipping of products to customers, ensuring timely and efficient delivery.
  • Manage a team of planners and provide comprehensive line management support.
  • Drive the implementation of lean processes, including 5S+ and standard work processes.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Operations Management, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in planning and logistics, preferably in a fastpaced manufacturing environment.
  • Strong understanding of MRP systems and demand management principles.
  • Excellent analytical and problemsolving abilities.
  • Effective communication skills with the ability to collaborate and influence stakeholders at all levels.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills and the ability to manage a team effectively.
  • Experience in implementing lean methodologies and driving continuous improvement.
  • Customerfocused mindset with a commitment to delivering exceptional service.
  • Strong organisational skills and the ability to prioritise and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
