Cavaghan & Gray, part of 2 Sisters Food Group are actively seeking to recruit an enthusiastic, competent individual for the role of
Line Assistant to join our team based in Carlisle.


We produce a huge range of chilled food products for some of the major retailers - it is a fast-paced environment, where things can change very quickly, and no two days are ever the same.

As a
Line Assistant you will be responsible for:

  • Assist Line Manager on all aspects of the day to day running of a line / area
  • Utilise members of the team, plant and equipment to optimum advantage to ensure maximum efficiency / productivity
  • Assist with maintaining highest levels of safety, quality and hygiene
  • Assist with introducing and training new starters
  • Assist to run the line / area in accordance with the line schedule to ensure despatch transportation deadlines are met
  • Key interactions with site functions (inc. H&S, Technical, Hygiene, Engineering and any support services)
  • Where applicable, help drive changeovers and minimise downtime
  • Deputise for Line Manager, including meetings / projects
  • Previous experience in manufacturing environment
  • Able to follow instructions
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Good working ethics

  • Problem solving skills
  • Attention to detail
  • Ability to produce data with accurate information
