Payroll Assistant - c.£22k - Working from home (60%)/Brenwood office (40%).
Overall Purpose
The Payroll Assistant will work across UK payrolls and international payrolls, including:
- Online and managed payroll
- Payrite and InPay payroll software
We will provide training on all aspects of this role and ensure that you have the knowledge, skills and experience to equip you for your future career within the firm.
Responsibilities
Ensure accurate and timely in-house payroll production for various clients in accordance with statutory regulations and within payroll deadlines and requirements
- Gain knowledge of statutory and legislative regulations, including UK tax legislation
- Assist initially with import/manually set up a new employee onto the payroll platform
- Generate payroll reports, P45s etc.
- Assist with distributing payroll using client procedures
- Process statutory payments
- Submit reports to HMRC
- Assist with processing payrolls endtoend using client procedures
- Import/export client timesheets
- Assist with setting up client/employee on our other software platforms for example epayslips/client online portal
- Any other adhoc duties as required (such as printing off payslips and getting them ready for clients)
- Update changes in client payroll data, entering data into the relevant systems, including:
Leavers
Absences and work plans
Variations and adjustments
Salary changes
Changes to benefits and allowances and different contract types
Pension deductions
- Create and run reports for clients
- Maintain strong client relationships and provide excellent customer care
- Any other adhoc duties as required
You will be exceptionally keen to learn, proactive, be comfortable working with numbers, have a positive attitude, and enjoy working in a team as well as individually.
Essential
- GCSE Maths and English (Grade C and above/49) or equivalent qualifications
- A measured and methodical approach to work
- A good standard of numeracy
- A good standard of literacy; clear and concise communication, both written and verbal
- A passion for customer care and ability to take a solutiondriven approach
- Ability to work independently with supervision
- Ability to prioritise workloads and work to hard deadlines
- Excellent attention to detail
- Ability to keep confidential any information obtained concerning the firm and its clients
- Flexibility to carry out any other duties that are within the scope, spirit and purpose of the job, the title of the role and its grading, as requested by the line manager or Head of Department
Desirable
- MS Office experience, including Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
