Would you like to provide Children & Young people with the support and opportunities they need to lead positive and fulfilling lives? We are looking to recruit motivated, resilient and passionate support workers to join our Step-A-Side family and become long-term, consistent adults in our young people's lives.
We have three Children's Homes based within rural settings in the Forest of Dean and Monmouthshire, this position in based just outside of Cinderford in the Forest of Dean.
Our rural surroundings create a relaxed atmosphere providing young people with the room to mature, develop and feel safe at home.
This gives our young people the opportunity to express their characters, really experience a childhood and achieve their highest potential.
The welfare of our young people is paramount in the role of a children's residential support worker, which is why your wellbeing, career progression and happiness is important to us.
No two days are ever the same, and although it can be challenging at times, the rewards of working with our young people are endless.
What we offer

Your role as a Residential Support Worker
- Create positive relationships with our young people, meeting their needs, promoting their selfesteem and safeguarding them at all times.
- Provide and participate in leisure activities with young people.
- Maintain structure, boundaries and domestic routines within the home.
- Complete and maintain administrative records as required by the home.
- Promote health and development young people as appropriate to their needs.
- Comply with and promote a therapeutic approach on a daily basis.
- Complete duties in line with Step-ASide's policies and procedures.
Our Shift pattern includes:
- Early shift (7am1pm)
- Late shift (1pm11pm)
- Sleep in (11pm7am)
- Late, sleep in & early (1pm1pm the following day)
- Other hours are often needed.
