Pepper Advantage is one of the leading loan servicing companies in the UK, and we are currently recruiting for a
HR Business Partner / Managerto join our growing HR team in
Uxbridge.

This role is a
15-month fixed-term contract in order to cover maternity leave.


We are looking for someone who has strong knowledge and experience working within a HR Business Partnering model. Our business is growing, so the successful applicant should be ready to roll up their sleeves and work alongside the broader team toachieve our ambitious goals for 2023.

We are looking for a proactive and positive person, who enjoys coaching and building relationships.

As a HR Business Partner / Manager, some of your key responsibilities will include:

  • managing the day-to-day operations and work distribution of the HR duties and KPIs.
- line manager responsibilities for some team members.
- working with the DoHR to establish and embed a successful HR Business Partnering model to best support our growing business.
- providing oversight and advice to managers on Employee Relations cases (at times liaising with legal counsel accordingly to ensure risks are considered and mitigated).
- providing coaching and mentoring to managers, supporting the performance and development of our teams with a range of HR topics.
- working closely with the DoHR to establish an annual set of HR objectives, which are then planned and delivered to meet the customer expectations. Assisting in design and refresh of annual plans
- managing the production of reports and statistics for governance meetings, client requests, and ad hoc project activity.
- supporting DoHR with specific HR-related projects.
- managing key HR employment policies, reviewing procedures to ensure that they remain current and in line with employment legislation.
- case management of absence and long-term sickness cases, supporting HR staff in management of issues.
- overseeing an effective HR service in ensuring items are sent to Payroll in an accurate and timely manner.
- oversight of the delivery of HR activities relating to all aspects of the employee life cycle which includes recruitment, employee relations, reward, performance management, etc., and providing assurance to DoHR that these are being delivered in line withthe HR plan.
- providing best practice advice, supporting and advising managers and employees in all HR issues/policies.
- working closely with the DoHR to manage data requests from client rating agencies and regulators.
- advising and making suggestions to other department managers on employment and human-resources-related areas in order to comply with current employment laws and regulations, and to harness engagement.
- coaching and mentoring junior members of the team on HR matters such as employment law as well as business practice.
- managing stakeholder relationships and expectations.


We are ideally looking for someone who has previously worked in a similar role within the Financial Services industry, but this is not essential.

Essential Skills:


  • Previous experience of mentoring and coaching a team and key stakeholders
  • Experience of working in a HR Business Partnering model
  • Experience in dealing with complex Employee Relations topics and casework
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to analyse information accurately
  • Excellent reporting skills, including Excel and use of other systems
  • Plans and adjusts work based on changing priorities and seeks clarification and direction as appropriate
  • Demonstrates an understanding of team member roles and responsibilities and balances own needs with those of the team and service
  • Proven ability to work under pressure and to tight deadlines
