Associate Director, Digital Biomarker Lead


The Associate Director, Digital Biomarker Lead is responsible to lead the implementation of digital biomarkers in clinical trials across all GSK disease areas.


In this role you will

  • Lead global matrix teams (technical leads, digital data scientists, clinical development, commercial, realworld evidence, epidemiology, regulatory, etc.) to identify, assess and implement innovative digital biomarkers in therapeutic (Phase I-IV) and observational studies; ensure programmes are delivered to conclusion successfully
  • Work with clinical development leads to identify clinical gaps and offer robust digital biomarker solutions
  • Define asset and TAlevel digital biomarker strategies; gain endorsement and funding for implementation of digital projects
  • Conduct landscape reviews to identify novel digital biomarkers aligned with asset development needs
  • Consistently critique the scientific robustness of digital biomarker development initiatives or approaches
  • Develop internal relationships that encourage scientific collaborations, act as the main DBM pointofcontact for individual clinical teams, manage interactions with clinical stakeholders, continuously assess study team's or programlevel needs and coordinate with other members of Digital Biomarkers team to address those needs and provide required input/support
  • Identify and guide external initiatives (academic and publicprivatepartnerships) to accelerate development and uptake of digital biomarker solutions by GSK
  • Represent GSK in discussions with external parties, including key external regulatory or industrywide strategic meetings.
  • Maintain an indepth understanding of Industry digital biomarkers trends and opportunities, through qualitative research and insights, and market analysis.

We are looking for professionals with these required skills to achieve our goals:

  • Master's degree in life sciences or technology field
  • Prior experience developing digital biomarkers for clinical trials across a variety of disease areas.
  • Experience working in a fastpaced environment with multiple competing priorities. Proven ability to operate in a matrixed environment, with a high tolerance for ambiguity
  • Excellent written and verbal communication, influencing and stakeholder engagement skills

Preferred Qualifications & Skills:


If you have the following characteristics, it would be a plus:

  • Advanced degree with a strong scientific and medical understanding of several of GSK's disease areas
  • Knowledge of related disciplines (life sciences, technology, data science, engineering, safety, clinical study design, etc) to enable multidisciplinary approaches to be identified and integrated into a cohesive digital biomarker plan
  • Familiarity with the regulatory processes for developing Digital Health Tools and/or Medical Devices
  • Ability to work in a multicultural environment, and willingness to travel internationally
