About The Role
Calculating the Society's capital and impairment requirements is of the highest importance and profile.

The Capital and Impairment team has a wide variety of accountabilities, so the team is split into 3camps and managing the model monitoring camp will be your role.

You will manage and deliver the build, implementation and refresh of Capital (IRB) and Impairment (IFRS9) Model and Scorecard Monitoring in accordance with regulatory standards which would need to meet a variety of timeframes and stakeholder/business requirementsand to undertake first line annual reviews of these models.

Strong statistical knowledge is therefore essential, as is the ability to effectively present technical reports to senior managers and committees.

The camps come together to work regularly on high profile activities such as supporting the annualreporting and accounts process, Quantitative Impact Studies, Benchmarking, 2nd line validation, internal and external audits and contributing to Society wideprojects.

As well as being expert in the model monitoring area, you will be expected to actively learn about the activities and responsibilities of the other camps with a view to having a wide knowledge across all of the Capital & Impairment team's responsibilities andto support any of the other areas if required.

The role requires the establishment of a close and effective working relationship with key stakeholders across Credit Risk as well as with Finance colleagues and auditors (internal and external).You will also be expected to engage with equivalent Credit Riskmanagers from outside the organisation in order to network and share ideas and insights.

About You
In your current or previous roles you will have gained extensive Credit Risk or Finance experience, working with a high degree of autonomy, where you will have built up asubstantial understanding of statistical techniques, knowledge, understanding and/orexperience of
model monitoring and regulatory requirements.
Technically you will have advanced skills in the use of MS Excel, and have experience in the use of statistical and reporting packages (e.g. Business Objects, IBM COGNOS).Knowledge or experience in using analytical tools such as SAS, with SAS Macros, SASEnterprise Guide and SQL, is essential for this role.
You will be agile so able to work to tight deadlines whilst dealing with multiple and changing priorities.

Due to the volume of management information, returns and documentation completed by the camps, you need to be conscientious and able to encourage colleaguesto follow the high standards that you set.

Caring about people will be high on your agenda be that ensuring that a stakeholder gets the best service from your camp or understanding a team member's key drivers and guiding them to fulfil their potential.

You will be required to engage with Senior Management (including at Exec level) and will need to be able to explain complex technical matters in a concise and easily understood format to senior but non-technical people.
