What will I be doing?

As a
Senior Commissioning Officer in our innovative and supportive Children's Commissioning Team, you will be supporting children in care and care leavers, so that we have the right homes which are nurturing and caring places for children to grow in.

We are currently undergoing an exciting restructure within the team, and this is a great time to join us as we implement an ambitious 5-year strategy to ensure we have the right homes for all our children and young people.

Your day-to-day work will involve:

  • Implementing and leading on strategies and initiatives to ensure we have nurturing and caring homes for children to grow up in.
  • Working closely with both our inhouse services and external providers who we commission to deliver homes for children and young people.
  • Learning all aspects of commissioning and project management.
  • Being outcome focussed and wanting the best for Somerset Children.

What kind of experience or qualifications do I need?

  • Have well developed verbal and written communication skills.

Anything else I should know?
The salary for the role is grade 9, ranging from £37,261 - £41,496 per annum.
You will be based in Taunton with a requirement to travel county wide.
Interviews will be held on the 7th August.
