Ocean Healthcare are looking for an experienced Female Healthcare Assistant to support one of our service user who has Type 2 Diabetes with Vascular Dementia.

She can communicate her needs clearly but struggles with her hearing and requires the use of a hearing aid.

A previous stroke has left her unable to use one side of her body relying on the use of a wheelchair and mobility car.

Living in an adapted bungalow in Exminster, this service user enjoys eating traditional home cooked meals.

Meals are a very sociable time for her and she would enjoy the company of the carer while they eat together.

She also enjoys trips into the community and down to the beach. On very rare occasions she likes to go out to eat.

You will be working 1:1

You need to be an experienced carer.

It is not essential that you have specific experience working with complex needs as you will get all the training you need.

You will be trained and supported by our outstanding team of specialists and nurses. This will involve training and shadowing until one of our nurses is happy to sign you off as competent. Training is paid for.


Pay Rates:

£13.00 p/hr Monday
  • Friday

£15.30 p/hr Saturday
  • Sunday

£18.30 p/hr Bank Holidays

For consistency a minimum availability of 2-3 nights a week would be preferable up to a maximum of 4 nights each week. Flexibility would be appreciated, but we are willing to consider your personal circumstances if there are nights/times you are unable to work.

Full mileage paid from home to this location in Exminster up to a maximum of 20 miles each way.

Permanent and bank contracts available. You can work full or part time.


You must be patient and caring and able to work on your own while providing care as part of a team.
