Salary:
£24,000 - £30,000 per annum dependent on experience


As a Radiology Departmental Assistant you will work within the Ultrasound department dealing with clinical and administrative jobs for the department.

This will include but not limited to booking chaperoning US scans, Booking appointments, printing reports and taking bloods.


Duties & Responsibilities**- Meet and greet all visitors to the Ultrasound department to include patients and Consultant Users.

  • Chaperone Ultrasound scans and assist consultants with reports, patient monitoring etc.
  • Register Patients using the Hospital Information system (Meditech).
  • General Administration of the Ultrasound department
  • Arrange bookings for US
  • Sending out reports
  • Maintain Ultrasound stock control in the Radiology Office
  • Taking bloods
  • Ensuring patient comfort, dignity and privacy are maintained at all times and are specific to the patients' needs.
  • Assisting the Ultrasound manager with administrative tasks
  • To assist the Ultrasound staff and Consultant's in the department as required.
  • Ensure that the equipment is maintained in good working order and report faults where necessary.

Skills and experience

  • Previous Hospital Healthcare experience desirable
  • Radiology Department experience is desirable
  • Ability to work independently and within a team.
  • Exceptional communication and organisation skills.
  • Ability to be flexible with working patterns
  • Competent IT user to include Word and Excel
