We are currently seeking a dedicated and compassionate SEN Teaching Assistant to join our team at a primary school located in Blackburn.
This full-time position is available for the entire academic year and offers the chance to work in a Key Stage 2 class, supporting children with a range of special educational needs.
Responsibilities:
- Provide oneonone support to students with SEN, including those with behavior challenges, learning difficulties, and other additional needs.
- Assist the class teacher in planning and delivering tailored learning activities to meet the individual needs of students.
- Help create a supportive and inclusive classroom environment, promoting positive behavior management techniques and strategies.
- Collaborate with other staff members and external professionals to develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs).
- Monitor and track student progress, providing regular feedback to the class teacher and SENCO (Special Educational Needs Coordinator).
- Support students in their social and emotional development, encouraging independence and selfesteem.
Requirements:
- Previous experience working as a Teaching Assistant or Learning Support Assistant, ideally within a primary school setting.
- Strong understanding of SEN, particularly in relation to behavior management and other additional needs.
- Knowledge of effective strategies and interventions to support children with SEN.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students, staff, and parents/guardians.
- Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for supporting the educational and emotional wellbeing of children.
- Relevant qualifications, such as a Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant certification or equivalent.
- Enhanced DBS (Disclosure and Barring Service) clearance, or willingness to obtain one.
- Available to work fulltime for the duration of the academic year.

£11.41-£12.50 per hour
Schedule:
- Day shift
- Monday to Friday
- No weekends
Ability to commute/relocate:
- Bamber Bridge, Lancashire: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required)

- Childcare: 1 year (preferred)
