Description

We are looking to recruit a new member to the Portering & Security Department at University Dorset Hospitals Foundation Trust within the Poole Hospital Site, to assist in all aspects of the Portering role.

This is a busy role, which will involve a variety of tasks including but not limited to the following:

  • Patients transfers
  • Delivery/Collection of all blood products and specimens
  • Responding to Security alerts
  • Transportation and exchange of gas cylinders
  • Waste collection, disposal and recycling duties
  • Transportation of Medical & Non-Medical equipment
The successful applicant should be able to manage own workload and work with mínimal supervision.

We are looking for a self-motivated individual who can integrate quickly with a highly successful team therefore excellent team skills and flexibility are essential combined with strong interpersonal skills.


You will need to be physically able to cope with the demands of this role including the high level of patients transfers in addition to the delivery and collection of equipment used by medical and non medical staff each day and being part of a security response.


This role will be 37.5 hours per week, working as part of a rota which will include weekend, evening and night shifts.
