General Manager - Food Factory - SudanAbout Our Client
This business is an established food manufacturer in Africa We are looking for someone currently UK based to emigrate and lead 2 factories
In this General Manager position, you will have P&L accountability for the business, working end to end across the supply chain from suppliers through to customers to drive operational excellence.
Headcount across both units is around 400 staff, and theproduce is mainly dairy - milk, cheese, yoghurts and so on.
Job Description:
You will be leading a business and a cross functional team in an exciting and varied role which will drive operational excellence but also have a commercial element.
As the Factory General Manager, you will implementing best practice production processes& interacting with customers to ensure the business continue to deliver quality products, on time in full.
Key responsibilities:
- Effectively manage all operational aspects of the business unit, within a safe and healthy environment
- Operational leadership, P&L responsibility and customer accountability
- Deliver the production plan on time and at the budgeted efficiency
- Work with the wider management team to review and improve SOPs
- Develop and improve production KPIs aligned with business objectives
- Drive cost savings through efficient use of resources and continuous improvement initiatives
- Working closely with the planning and warehousing teams to ensure a seamless end to end operation; planning & forecasting is optimised and targets are met
- Ensure product quality and customer expectations are continuously met
- Support in embedding the site Health and Safety culture
- Develop team through coaching and mentoring, training and leadership by example
This role is suited to an Operations/Factory Manager with food/FMCG manufacturing experience & experience interacting with customers.
The successful applicant will also have:
- Experience managing site profit & loss/budgets
- Knowledge of planning & proven capability of delivering against operations KPIs
- Experience & knowledge of lean manufacturing tools & techniques
- Health and Safety understanding
- Commercial understanding
- Ability to communicate effectively at all levels, internally & externally
The role will also come with accommodation, mobile phone, laptop and 1 return flight back to the UK per annum included in the package.
