_Do you have experience in a maintenance environment and interested in providing excellent services to our clients?_


As a homelessness charity and housing association our aim to provide quality housing to our clients and to end rough sleeping for good is at the heart of what we do.

To achieve our aims, we have an opportunity for 2 people to join the as Repairs and Voids Inspectors.

You will be joining the Housing Services team at a time of transformation, as we introduce new IT systems to manage our repairs and voids contract and procure new repairs and voids contracts.


The role of Inspector, offers you the opportunity to deliver a range of projects, working out on site, visiting St Mungo's properties, alongside the team at our office in Tower Hill, and working from home.


You will ensure that repairs, voids, damp, and mould cases are managed efficiently, within budget and to the satisfaction of clients ensuring that our property portfolio remains safe, well maintained, and fit for purpose.


Other key responsibilities will include:

  • Supporting the Repairs and Voids Surveyor to tightly manage our reactive repairs and void contracts to ensure a safe, timely and costeffective service.
  • Undertake property inspections to survey properties, diagnose repairs and ensure quality of workmanship and materials for works completed by our contractors.
  • Ensure that we provide an excellent service for clients and colleagues including consulting them on the service received and addressing poor delivery of projects.

About you


We are looking for people who can bring their experience of working in a maintenance and client-driven environment to the team.

Above all we are looking for someone with a genuine desire to provide quality services to St Mungo's clients.

You don't need to have direct social housing or charity experience, although this would be beneficial; but if you can demonstrate the below we encourage you to apply:


  • Experience of following maintenance related procedures and keeping effective records using a range of IT systems
  • A good working knowledge of health and safety legislation and procedures.
  • Good organisational skills and the ability to manage your own time and workload.
  • Effective communication skills, an interest in working as part of a team, and the ability to build good relationships with a variety of different people.
  • Travel to various location is essential in this role, a full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle is beneficial.
