I have a fantastic opportunity for a
COMMITTED individual to join a therapeutic and educational children's residential service in Corse, Gloucestershire.


Your role would be to support children and young adults with emotional, behavioural, social and mental health challenges, in an environment where they feel safe and cared for.


No two days are ever the same as a children's support worker so you need to be happy to work in a fast-paced, ever-changing environment.

Salary:
£25,000 - £25,500


Location:
Corse, Gloucestershire (GL19 postcode)


Contract:
Permanent


Hours: 39 hours a week

Shift pattern: 6-week rotation (early, late and night shifts)

Responsibilities:


  • To encourage the young people to do activities and take responsibility for their own lives depending on their age.
  • To keep the homely, friendly culture and environment of the homes.
  • To be able to deal with challenging behaviours when needed.
  • Protect children and young people from risks to their health and welfare.
  • Provide support for the children and young people in the home and promote their independence and wellbeing.
  • Maintain a safe environment for the young people.
  • Ensuring the safety of the students and maintaining an uptodate knowledge of the individual's; care plan, guidelines, reward system and preferred method of communication.
  • Supporting taxing behaviour safely and sympathetically.
  • Develop and maintain good working relationships with the staff, parents, Social Workers and other professionals that may be involved in the young people's lives such as Psychologists.

Requirements:


  • Experience as a children's support worker, or with young people is desirable but not essential.
  • Experience within another healthcare or social care setting is desirable but not essential.
  • You must hold a Full UK Driving Licence you will be required to transport young people from time to time.
  • You must be over the age of 2
  • You must be able to commute to Corse, Gloucestershire.
