Working at Cheltenham Borough Council means working as part of a committed, professional and friendly team.We have an exciting opportunity for someone to join our successful Revenues and Benefits Team as a Revenues officer.
About the role
- Updating council tax records accurately and issuing bills
- Negotiating payment plans
- Responding to customer enquiries by phone, letter and face to face
- Issuing letters and contacting customers for payment
- This will include responding to enquiries from the general public
Please note this is a hybrid-working role with some working days in the Cheltenham office.
To be successful you will need
- A minimum of 5 qualifications equivalent to NVQ level 2, GCSE at Grade C/4 or above, these must include Maths and English
- Excellent customer service skills
- Excellent communication skills
- To be flexible, resilient and capable of working to deadlines
- Good IT skills
- Ideally to have experience of working in council tax and/or business rates, or working in a credit control/accounts receivable environment
