The post holder will join an exciting new development in perinatal mental health services, taking a role in supporting the expansion of the Maternal Mental Health Service (MMHS).

These are new services which support the delivery of the NHS Long Term Plan and aim to integrate maternity, reproductive health and psychological therapy for women experiencing mental health difficulties directly arising from or related to the maternity experience.

It is expected MMHS will improve the levels of psychological support and care provided to women and families who have experienced loss and trauma in relation to their
perinatal/neonatal/maternity experiences.

The post holder will provide highly specialist psychological assessment, intervention and therapy to women referred to the MMHS at the same time as offering supervision and consultation on client's psychological care to non psychology colleagues as and when required.
