About the role - Year 1 Teacher
Our wonderful client school in Bury are seeking to appoint a Year 1 teacher to commence from January. This role is set to last until the end of the year and will involve full class teacher responsibility. The school are able to pay a salary of between M1and M6 for this role. They are looking for somebody enthusiastic and motivated who can raise attainment within the school.

Year 1 Teacher Roles and Responsibilities

  • Develop excellent working relationships with students to promote positive behaviour within the classroom
  • Work effectively with other staff members and parents to ensure good outcomes for children
  • Teach phonics using the 'Letters & Sounds' scheme of work and prepare children for the phonics screening test
  • Promote a love of reading throughout school and beyond
  • Plan creative and engaging lessons inline with long term plans to inspire children's curiosity
  • Uphold all school policies including safeguarding and behaviour

Year 1 Teacher Essential Requirements

Essential Year 1 Teacher Requirements

  • Hold QTS or equivalent
  • Experience in UK Primary Schools
  • Two professional references with at least one referencing teaching experience
  • Provide professional references to cover teaching experience
  • Provide a full employment history including any gaps
