Mental Health Support Worker - Floating Support Services

Permanent

X4 positions available, x1 30 hrs and x3 37 hrs per week.

£20,500 - £22,077


RSR Justice are currently recruiting for x4 dedicated Support Workers on behalf of our charity client based in Mountsorrel, Leicestershire.

You will focus on preventing vulnerable people from losing their home, manage dual diagnosis issues, promote recovery, and support setting up new homes after a hospital discharge or homelessness.

As this a floating support role, a valid driving licence and access to a vehicle is essential. You will be reimbursed for mileage costs.


The role will be - 16:30 or 9:30 - 17:00, Monday to Friday and you will need the flexibility to work evenings on request and weekends as required.


Responsibilities & Duties:


  • Deliver a professional service by providing support and care for service users with mental health conditions.
  • Provide information, advice and guidance about mental health and wellbeing services in local communities exploring options available together to find what is right for each individual.
  • Deliver a range of recoveryfocussed interventions to maximise individual and community assets to promote social inclusion, recovery, wellbeing and independence.
  • Discuss coping strategies, and offer advice on things like benefits or relationships that are affecting personal wellbeing.
  • Support individuals who require assistance to access day services, employment, education and training opportunities in line with the service level agreement.

Requirements:


  • Must have experience and knowledge of mental health needs, housing and benefit related issues and an awareness of drug and alcohol related needs, supporting agencies and evidence based reduction/recovery interventions.
  • Solid understanding of local resources, be able to work effectively on your own, be confident in communication skills, have networking experience, relationship building and a desire to help people work to their strengths and maximise their futures.
