Working Full Time: 37.5 Hours Per Week

We are looking for an enthusiastic and self-motivated individual to join the Catering Services Team.

We are looking for an individual who has achieved a good grounding within the Catering Business and is proficient in all aspects of managing a busy Catering Service within an NHS Hospital.


The Catering Department is a busy and multi-functional area of the Hospital, providing meals for patients and staff and meeting the Hospitality Services/Catering requirements for the wider Trust customers.


You will be responsible for the effective and efficient management of all catering services, associated contracts and SLA's with neighbouring Trusts.

Specific responsibility and accountability for ensuring compliance with local authority environmental health legislation in relation to food hygiene.

You have financial responsibility for all the above services, including budgetary management, attaining income and cost improvement targets.

The role requires a customer focused personality with an eye for detail and a passion for high standards.

You will need strong management people skills as you will be responsible for providing guidance and advice to staff, maintaining budgets, training and ensuring the wellbeing of the team.


The Countess of Chester Hospital NHS Foundation Trust consists of a 600 bedded large District General Hospital, which provides its services on the Countess of Chester Health Park, and a 64 bedded Intermediate Care Service at Ellesmere Port Hospital.


The Trust provides services in all of the surgical and medical specialties common to a District General Hospital with some specialist services.

The Trust serves the whole of the local population currently in excess of 250,000 residents which geographically covers populations in England and North Wales.


The Trust strives to continuously improve and sustain the quality of its services for patients, providing care to more than 445,000 patients per year, with almost 4,000 staff working together putting quality and patient safety, at the heart of everything we do.

The organisation provides a wide range of services offering health care to the whole spectrum of the population from birth to the end of life.
